Beautiful days to my beautiful sisters! I pray all is well balanced in your worlds :)
Welp...I'm sure we can all agree that the male/female dynamic in our community is one subject we all love to love and hate. I'll be the first to admit that I've been on th farthest ends of the love spectrum and just about everywhere in between. What better teacher than experience? If my experiences can better our love...it is my honor and pleasure to share them! Feel free to share your own(directly or hypothetically)...we are here to make our nation one of greatness...& we certainly cant build on bad relationships.
I know, I know..."the body follows the head" a.k.a. our men lead, we follow; so the state of our community is a refelction of 'them'. Well, I'll state the obvious...this page is not for them! lol. It's not our job to teach or lead them; but we can make changes in ourselves that will bring change to our men, families, and community.
More than many of us feel that we (women) have been making changes and sacrifices for far too long. "They've" been getting away with skating by on the backs of our 'hard work'. We have raised the kids, held multiple jobs, and kept our heads higher than the clouds through it all. We have climbed corporate ladders, become the 'first African-American woman' such&such...and we do deserve recognition for our accomplishments. Yet, some(not all, SOME) of us have kept our 4 inch stiletto heel on our men's necks. Constantly reminding them of how far we've come without them, how much we "dont need them", and how "every other n!gga..."
See, as we've been working hard to build the image of 'strong black women', we've also assisted in tearing down our strong black men. I've been there, done that and turned back...love, relationship...even marriage, doesnt have to be DRAMA. The changes I made TO MY >SELF< brought about changes in the people and environment around me that ultimately got me the results I REALLY WANTED. Not what the t.v. or black novels told me I should want but what I truly desired, and what my Father desired for me. ( 1Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. )
I won't make any promises, but I will share what's worked for me. The changes present here, if implemented correctly, and willingly, may fix what has been so badly broken. Sisters, we are the spine...we hold the body together. We keep the head held high! So maybe, just maybe, a drooping head is a reflection on bad posture?....Let's be the stewards of the family we were ordained to be. Grooming the body to reflect the strength and beauty the Most High has granted us by nature.
More &more &more LOVE ladies!!
